Using the Voicemail Feature on the Avaya Phone System
Avaya has developed a user-friendly way of managing voicemails similar to managing voicemails on our smartphones. This is done using Avaya’s Visual Voice.
- To access Visual Voice, press the “Envelope” button to the left of the radial buttons.
- If you have a voicemail or multiple voicemails, both the “Envelope” button and the lamp on your phone will be illuminated. These will remain lit until you have played each of the new messages.
- To check messages, press the “Envelope” button and enter your passcode on the number pad if requested. The numbers next to “Listen” on the display show the current number of messages.
- Highlight “Listen,” then press the “Select” soft key to navigate through the messages. Press “Select” again to listen to a particular message.
- You can use the soft keys to control the playback options for the current message.
Old messages are messages that you listened to but did nothing with. These messages are deleted after a certain period of time set by your system administrator. The default length is 30 days.
Saved messages are messages that you listened to and then pressed the “Save” soft key. These messages are saved indefinitely until they are deleted.
